Job Title: World Language Teacher/ Spanish
Job Status: Part-Time/Permanent
Hours: Two school days/week totaling 16 hours/week in the building.
This position is paid for 16 hours a week from first week of school through last week. The teacher will be paid for all holidays within that time which means continuous payment throughout the school year.
Job Description
Duties: The teacher will plan and implement lessons for each class of students in the building ranging from Pre-K 4 to 8th grade adhering to the goals of the world language curriculum of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia*. World Languages (aopelementary.org)
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES OF SPANISH TEACHER:
· Prepare and deliver engaging and structured classes to students
· Teach classes, utilizing the Archdiocesan world language curriculum
· Collaborate with other teachers to introduce Spanish in other subjects and Liturgies
· Develop in each student an understanding of Spanish culture.
· Adapt materials and methods to develop assignments and lesson plans that guide and challenge students
· Monitor students’ development and issue progress reports and report card grades
· Ensure compliance with school policies, regulations and objectives
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in education or equivalent certification/experience
· Teacher Certification or other language certificate and experience
· Updated clearances – Pennsylvania State Police Background Check, Child Abuse Clearance, FBI Fingerprinting
