This is a Full Time / Permanent position.
Develops lesson plans to meet the unique needs of academic students who are deaf/hard of hearing from Kindergarten through 8th grade. Ability to assess student progress and develop IEP goals to address skills that need to be developed. Provide instruction to students based on the curriculum of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia with an emphasis on language development and communication. Must be proficient in American Sign Language and have in depth knowledge of amplification and cochlear implants.
Must have a Bachelor’s degree (or Master’s degree preferred) along with current PA State Certification as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
Genuine interest to work with children with sensory disabilities. Ability to collaborate with teachers and therapists who serve the students. Ability to establish rapport and appropriate relationships with students and their families. Able to maintain confidentiality.
